Aniline, also known as aminobenzene, has a molecular formula of C6H7N and is a colorless oily liquid, which can be decomposed when heated to 370°C. Slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.

Aniline is one of the important amines. Mainly used in the manufacture of dyes, medicines, resins, and can also be used as a rubber vulcanization accelerator. It is also available as a black dye by itself. Its derivative, methyl orange, can be used as an indicator for acid-base titration.
